Cloudbreak is the most photogenic left in the world and one of the WSL's marquee stops. This guide aggregates real traveler ratings, average resort and charter costs, wave-by-wave breakdowns and season — from independent operators and editorial sources.

Surfex aggregates real ratings and prices from Tavarua and Namotu resorts, independent charter operators, and editorial guides (Surfline, The Inertia, Stab). We don't accept payment for placement, and every score and price links to its original source.
Cloudbreak sits three kilometres off Tavarua Island in Fiji's Mamanuca chain. It's a long, hollow left that runs from Point over Middles to Shish Kebabs, holding size from three to twenty feet without deforming. Restaurants breaks nearby off Tavarua's east side. Prime season runs April–October on SW groundswell and SE trades.
There isn't a more consistent, more photogenic left of this quality on earth. Cloudbreak breaks over a shallow reef pass and holds size — three-foot Cloudbreak is world-class, twelve-foot Cloudbreak is an event. Restaurants next door is the pointier, hollower alternative when Cloudbreak is small or overcrowded.
Advanced surfers will get the most from the trip. Intermediates score on Namotu Left, Wilkes Pass and Cloudbreak's smaller days, but shouldn't count on paddling out on solid days. Beginners belong at Swimming Pools or on lessons at Waidroka.
Tavarua and Namotu are the classic all-inclusive resorts — expensive (~US$4,200/week) but with the shortest commute to Cloudbreak. Fiji Beachouse and Waidroka Bay offer far cheaper access via public transfer boats. Charter boats are viable but rarely better value than a resort.
Bring three boards: your daily driver (for Namotu Left, Wilkes and small Cloudbreak), a step-up 2–4 litres above (for solid Cloudbreak / Restaurants), and a semi-gun for anything over 8 feet. An all-rounder like the Channel Islands Happy Everyday works well on the softer days.
