Jason Stevenson's globally distributed high-performance label — home of the Monsta 10, Xero Gravity and Air 17, ridden on tour by Jack Robinson and Julian Wilson.

JS Industries was founded by Jason 'JS' Stevenson in 1986 on the Gold Coast, and has grown into one of the largest performance shortboard labels in the world. JS is the go-to shaper for a rotating cast of Championship Tour surfers including Jack Robinson, Julian Wilson, Owen Wright and Ethan Ewing — and unlike many pro-line brands, the stock boards you can buy in a shop are essentially the same models the pros ride.
The current lineup is anchored by the Monsta 10 (all-round high-performance), Xero Gravity (2024 flagship, Jack Robinson's world-title vehicle), Air 17 (all-round shortboard) and Black Baron 3 (small-wave groveler). JS's design language is unmistakably Australian: point-break-oriented rocker, refined tail templates and a strong drive off the front foot.
JS operates its own factory on the Gold Coast and licenses shaping to partner facilities in the US, Japan and Europe, all working from JS master files. Stock boards are widely available through Boardcave, Cleanline Surf, Surfride and JS's own e-commerce.
Surfex is an aggregator — we do not test boards ourselves. These are the retailer, editorial and manufacturer pages we cross-check when writing about JS Industries. Numeric aggregate ratings are only shown once we've scraped a real customer-review widget on one of our product review pages.

Jack Robinson rides the JS Xero Gravity as his primary competition shortboard, and switches to the Monsta 10 or a JS step-up in bigger conditions. Both are available as stock boards.
The Monsta 10 and Air 17 are widely recommended for advancing intermediates because their extra volume and slightly wider outline paddle easier than a pro-line Xero Gravity while still surfing like a proper high-performance shortboard.
JS shapes and glasses their flagship stock boards at the JS factory on the Gold Coast of Australia. US, European and Japanese licensees produce additional stock boards using JS master files to keep global inventory available.
Both are top-tier PU shortboard labels with deep pro pedigrees. JS shapes tend to be a touch drivier and more oriented toward long, open-faced Australian point-break waves; Channel Islands' shapes are a bit looser and more forgiving off the top. Most surfers pick based on feel, not lineup.
New JS stock boards typically range from $850 (Air 17, Monsta 10 PU) to $1,150 (Xero Gravity Custom, HYFI 2.0 tech) in the US. Customs shaped in Australia add $200–$400.
