How it surfs
Foiling Magazine tested a pre-release unit and singled out the plan shape: rather than tapering the tips to a point, AXIS carry width and area all the way to squared-off tips, adding a subtle downward twist there to smooth the low-end stall. Their verdict was that "the ART999 rides nothing like you'd expect it to. Go in with high aspect presumptions, and you're going way off the mark."
Their most surprising result came from SUP foiling, where a wing this size and aspect ratio should have failed in small swell. Instead they reported "a level of speed, carving and pumpability we didn't think we'd ever get on a board that size", with the effect amplified further on prone. Behind a boat it sat happily on the second wake and pumped indefinitely.

Verdict
The wing that proved high-aspect does not have to mean difficult. If you want glide and pump without giving up usable low-end, the ART 999 remains one of the reference points.
