About Unifoil

Unifoil was founded on Maui in 2019 by Kane De Wilde, one of the original crew that came up in the modern prone-foil era. From the start Unifoil's brief was accessibility: build wings that intermediate prone foilers can actually ride, without the narrow speed window that makes most high-aspect wings punishing to learn on.

The Progression line is the result — wings with slightly thicker profiles and forgiving low-end that let riders move up in aspect ratio without losing the ability to recover from bad pop-ups. The Progression 170 and 200 are two of the most-reviewed prone foils on US retailer sites, with customer scores consistently in the 4.7–4.8 range.

The Vyper line sits above Progression for advanced riders — thinner profile, higher aspect, and the wing Unifoil's team uses at Ho'okipa. Unifoil is one of the few foil brands with a dedicated intermediate-friendly line, which is a big part of why it's grown so fast in the US.

FAQ

Progression vs Vyper — which line?

Progression for intermediate to advanced prone foilers who value forgiveness. Vyper for advanced riders who want the thinnest possible profile and top-end speed.

Progression 170 vs 200 — which size?

170 for lighter riders or faster waves; 200 for the all-round choice (most-recommended size) or smaller / weaker surf.

Is Unifoil compatible with other foil systems?

Unifoil uses its own plate-mount fuselage system. Third-party adapter plates exist for Axis and Armstrong compatibility, but Unifoil recommends running the full ecosystem.
